These are Mario "Toadstool" cupcakes made for a 9 year old birthday party. After trial and error we (Me, My Mom and Sister) had to cover the entire cupcake in fondant to give it the right effect and to let the base be white enough. They turned out good, but were a lot harder than I would've expected!
These are really awesome! Hard work does pay off!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to *try* to recreate these for my son's 9th birthday to take to his classmates at school. We're stationed in Interior Alaska for the next 4 years, and up here WalMart cupcakes with the plastic rings stuck in the top are considered "going all out" :) I'm also going to try making a giant "1 up" mushroom as his cake for his actual party, we'll see how that one goes as well. Thanks so much for the inspiration, I've been at a loss as to what to do for the class. All of your work is beautiful! (oh, and the Strawberry Shortcake cake is totally appropriate for THIS girl's birthday, figure on top and all!)
