Christmas Lights & Mini-Trees.

Christmas lights cupcakes.  Made of cupcakes, icing, graham crackers, pretzels, gumdrops, twizzlers, sprinkles...the list goes on!  Perfect for any Christmas party.

The lighting is bad on this - but these are mini-cupcakes with Christmas trees piped on top.  Powdered sugar for a snowy effect!

AutoBell Cake.

Someone very close to me works for AutoBell Car Wash in the Charlotte area - and I was asked to make a cake for their in-house Christmas party.  (The petit fours below were for them, too.) I asked if I could do a logo cake for them along with their order, and well - I'd say it turned out pretty good!  This was all piped by hand after transferring the logo with piping gel.  Pretty cool!

Detail on the logo.

Christmas Petit Fours.

This was our (me and mom) first attempt at making petit fours.  Boy, was it a lot harder than you would expect!  Making sure to have all 5 surfaces smooth and presentable proved to be difficult with buttercream, but overall they were worth it!   Trying something new and learning the tricks of the trade is what it's all about!

My Little Pony.

LOVE this cake!  With the exception of the clouds (which are buttercream,) the entire cake is fondant.  I was so happy with how this turned out.  I met with this customer and we just worked out exactly how she wanted it by putting a couple of ideas together from different cakes.  The cupcakes were adorable - I purchased a new piping tip (the 1M) and that is how I did the swirly design on the cake.  This is my new favorite toy!  I'd make this cake again in a heartbeat!

Super Mario "Toadstool" Cupcakes.

These are Mario "Toadstool" cupcakes made for a 9 year old birthday party.  After trial and error we (Me, My Mom and Sister) had to cover the entire cupcake in fondant to give it the right effect and to let the base be white enough.  They turned out good, but were a lot harder than I would've expected!

Pink and Brown Polka Dots.

This is a buttercream two-tiered cake with fondant circles - the smaller of the two being a smash cake.  Cute for any little girl's birthday!

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes.

I made these for a preschool class, and while I'm sure the parents liked them...they likely hated me too because these are nothing but sugar! Buttercream icing dipped in orange sugar crystals with an Airhead as the vine and a Rainbow Twizzler as the stem! Perfect for Halloween!

Monkey Cupcakes.

Darling cupcakes made for some adorable twins' birthday party!  The faces are made of fondant.  So cute!

Sports Cake.

I made this cake for a one year old birthday party.  The cakes are entirely buttercream, including the different sports balls that are on the sheet cake - which were all piped by hand.  Blogger is not my friend today and keeps rotating my pictures! but the football cake was for the 1 year old to tear into!

Tennis Cupcakes.

These cupcakes were super cute! Unfortunately, my camera has decided to stop taking quality pictures and is somewhat grainy (so, I'm in the market for a camera!)  I made these for an end of the season tennis party for a high school tennis team.  The pink and blue accents are all fondant.  In hind sight I would have done more of the cupcakes with the grass, racquet and pink ball - they ended up being my favorite.

Safari!

These cakes were made for a one year old birthday party. I. Love. These. Cakes. The sheet cake is fondant - everything is edible! and the bottom is a fondant monkey with buttercream icing so it will be messy for the baby to tear into!!

Fall Birthday Cake

Fall Flowers. Basket weave. Can't go wrong! This design could be used for any occasion!

Yankees Baby Cake.

A friend of mine chose not to find out the sex of her baby, and thus her biggest baby shower was held after he was born. The family decided to go with a Yankees theme since that's his Daddy's favorite team and this is what they came up with! So cute! I'm sure all of the Yankees fans loved it! Sox fans probably wouldn't touch the stuff! :)

Raggedy Ann & Andy

Raggedy Ann

and her friend, Andy

These cakes were made for a child's birthday party and they speak for themselves! So cute! Everything is edible. The hair is made of twizzlers pull-n-peel and the flowers on Raggedy Ann's shirt are skittles!

Polka Dots.

This cake is for a bridal shower. (The brides colors are teal and brown). A little twist on the baby shower cake I made with the dots and stripes. This one is not fondant, only buttercream so it's not quite a smooth, but smells absolutely delicious!

This is a simple fondant cake I did for a friends' nephew's Christening. I was particularly pleased with how the flowers turned out on it.

Baby Blanket Cupcakes

These are, obviously, for a baby shower. A friend at work found them online and asked that I recreate them, and I am SO pleased with how they turned out. The entire cupcake is edible (baby, blanket and pillow are fondant) and would be a hit at any baby shower!

Phineaus & Ferb

This was a special order cake from my good friend Holli. Her twins were turning 4 and Phineaus and Ferb are their favorite cartoon. Being brand new to Disney Channel, they don't even sell Phineaus and Ferb toys, let alone a cake pan. This was done by tracing a picture of the characters in piping gel and then placing it down on the cake. I then piped in all of the lines and worked on the details by hand. I was pleased with how it turned out, and I hear the boys loved it!

Baby Blocks.

Totally fondant cake! Obviously it matched the theme of the baby shower, but it is just so darn cute I'd love to make about 6 more of them! Good for a baby shower or it could be changed for a small child's birthday.

Strawberry Shortcake.

This cake was made for a 2 year old's Strawberry Shortcake themed birthday party. "Happy 2nd Birthday" is written on the top of the strawberry. From what I hear, it was a hit at the party! This cake could be tweaked to be more adult (obviously nix the figurine on top).

Martini anyone?

Simple cake - The icing is actually purple, but somehow the flash made it blue. This outter band has polka dots all over it.

Baby Buggy.

Clearly for a baby shower. Can do any color scheme you want!

Old Red Barn.

This cake was made for a 3 year old's birthday party. Everything on the cake is edible except for the little animals (which can also be made - I just didn't have time). The barn cake pan can be used to make a dollhouse, haunted house, gingerbread house - basically any kind of house. :) This is particular cake is great for a kids birthday!

Fondant Bow.

My first fondant cake. Great for anything - birthday, baby shower, just for fun.

Easter Bunny!

Of course, these are pretty seasonal treats. Good for Easter!

Easter Rose.

A simple cupcake with a simple rose. They turned out beautiful. Would be great for just about anything.

Celebration.

Before you panic - I did not help someone break up with their girlfriend via decorative cake! :) This guy wanted to help his girlfriend celebrate a last performance with a singing group. Apparently she was really happy for it to be over. I have a passion for music as well, so this cake was really fun to do. There are musical symbols all the way around the cake. It could work for a birthday or just for fun!

March Madness

March Madness basketball court cake and basketball cupcakes.

The Court.
I did this cake for the March birthdays at work. It would be great for kids who love basketball. (The court was drawn to scale by my Daddy! - It was a family project.)

Mulit-flower cake

This is a multi-flower cake (daisy, daffodils, pansy, roses, apple blossoms and more) with a basket weave technique on the sides. It would be great for an adult birthday or bridal shower.

Pink Roses.

This is a cake I made for class. It was to teach us the rose technique. The design is really supposed to be two layers, but my mom and I shared the cake mix so we wouldn't waste it. It would look much better with two layers. Still nice though! Would be great for an adult birthday or bridal shower!

Simple Flowers.

This cake was very simple. I did it for a friend of the family. They requested a particular (rather difficult) flower on the top, so we did the best we could and it turned out pretty elegant. This cake had a raspberry jam filling, and I hear it was delicious! :) Good for an adult birthday!

Spongebob Squarepants.

This is my favorite cake so far! We used a cake pan, and he just turned out so handsome! This cake would be great for any party!

Rainbow!

I made this cake for class. It would be great for a young kids birthday party. I just threw Nate's name on there because it was easy to write :)

Guitar.

I made this cake for my 18 year old brother's birthday. It was the first cake my mom and I did on our own. This cake could really be used for any occasion. (Can also be decorated as an electric guitar.)

Hello, cake world!

Since I am hoping to pursue this dream of cake making on the side, I thought it might be easier for my potential customers to be able to see my cakes with a little explanation at ease. I'll be sure to tag the posts so that you can sort by occasion.

Enjoy!
